Still the biggest concern for the Mountaineers has been the quarterback position, which has been in a constant state of flux through the first three games of the season with two players starting at least two games.
JT Daniels has taken over as the full-time starter and played well at times, but there are still concerns about his arm strength and decision-making.
Garrett Greene has played well in relief of Daniels as well but has yet to prove he can start on a consistent basis.
Running Backs: A+
The strength of the Mountaineers' offense has been its running game, which has been led by CJ Donaldson.

Tony Mathis has also played well in a backup role, giving the Mountaineers a solid duo at the position.
Wide Receivers: B-
WVU’s wide receivers have been inconsistent through the first three games of the season. Bryce Ford-Wheaton has been the team’s most productive receiver, but he is still struggling with drops
Isaiah Esdale has shown flashes of his potential, but will be out for the season with an injury.
Sam James has yet to find his rhythm this season, which has also hurt the Mountaineers' passing game.
Tight Ends: C+
The tight end position has been in flux through the three games with an injury to Mike O’Laughlin and the emergence of Treylan Davis.
Davis has shown some promise, but still has some room to improve before becoming a consistent contributor.
O’Laughlin is a major loss for WVU, as he was expected to be a key target in the passing game.
Offensive Line: B+
The offensive line has been solid through the first three games of the season, but still has some work to do.
The line has been able to open up some holes in the running game, but there are still some consistency issues.
The line has also struggled with penalties at times, which has hurt the Mountaineers' offense.
