About Judge Mathis
Gregory Ellis Mathis was born on April 5, 1960, in Detroit, Michigan. He graduated from Eastern Michigan University and the Detroit College of Law.
After graduating from law school, Mathis worked as an assistant prosecutor in Wayne County, Michigan. In 1995, he was elected to the Michigan 36th District Court, where he served for eight years.
In 1999, Mathis launched his reality court show, Judge Mathis. The show has been a success, and it has helped Mathis become a household name.
Mathis is married and has three children. He is also the author of several books, including "Don't Judge Me" and "The Mathis Way."
